Landscape and Visual Impact Assessment
Environmental Ethos undertakes landscape and visual impact assessments for all development types, including wind farms, grid and transmission infrastructure, transport projects, mines and quarries, oil and gas projects, residential and resort projects. Our visual impact assessment services are supported by GIS, photomontage and visibility modeling capabilities. Proactive consultation is a key part of our work and we participate in workshops and events for stakeholders and the public.
Our approach to impact assessment is from a design solutions perspective, that is, we seek to identify potential impacts early and design these ‘out’ of the project. This is undertaken in a collaborative process with the client and design team, and these ‘embedded mitigation measures’ are systematically reported in accordance with regulatory requirements. This process avoids or minimized impacts in a cost effective and time efficient manner, as well as having the benefit of reducing potential stakeholder concerns.
Environmental Ethos provides detailed mitigation recommendations for incorporating into environmental management plans and construction method statements, and can undertake on-going compliance monitoring.
Environmental Ethos has undertaken landscape and visual impact assessment for resource clients at International Finance Corporation (IFC) compliance standards.
